How to invite someone to Easter @ Revolution…

Hey Revolutionaries-

Have you had a chance to invite a friend to our Easter worship service? If not, don’t worry – you still have a little over a week! Here are a few suggestions on how to invite someone to our Easter service:

Facebook. We have created an event on our Facebook page that you can share with your friends. All you have to do is go to our page (https://www.facebook.com/therevolutionchurch) and send the invite to all your friends.
Invite Card. You can pick up some of the “WHAT IF?” invite cards this Sunday at our worship service. All you have to do is hand them out to your friends, neighbors and co-workers. The card will do all the work for you.
Call / Text Message. Take a few minutes this weekend to call or message a few friends. Let them know how much you would love for them to be at Revolution Church this Easter. Be sure to let them know the day and time - March 31 @ 11:30AM.

I believe that God is going to change lives this Easter. I believe there are some of our friends, co-workers and relatives that will be changed by Jesus. So, let’s remember to do our part and invite. This Easter is gonna be AWESOME!

BIG Frequently Asked Questions

Over the last few weeks, we have been talking about a BIG step that God has called our church family to take. However, due to illness and traveling, not all of us have been able to hear all the details. In order to help us all stay on the same page, we have put together a list of frequently asked questions. Here you go:Q: What is BIG?
A: We believe that God has called Revolution Church to do something BIG in our community. He has led us to create a center for community in the old downtown area of Oakland. There are two buildings that will serve as the first phase of this effort (The Village Hardware & Oakland Deposit Bank buildings, right across the street from where we currently meet.) We have entered into a contract to purchase these two buildings at the price of $170,000, which is way below their market value. This is a BIG opportunity for our church family to reach our neighbors by creating a place for community.

Q: How can I be involved in BIG?
A: There are several ways that you can all be involved. First, you can DREAM BIG. Pray and ask God to give you BIG DREAMS of how we can use this property to reach our community. Second, you can PRAY BIG. Ask God to open BIG doors for our church – ministry-wise and financially. Third, you can ACT BIG. God is calling all of us to make sacrifices of our time and finances to make this vision a reality. It’s up to you to ask God what that means for you. Finally, you can BELIEVE BIG. For this vision to become reality, God is gonna have to show up in a BIG way. The only question is – do you believe God can – and will – show up?

Q: What happens with the money that goes to BIG?
A: The down-payment needed to purchase this property is $40,000. To date, we have raised $7,130 of that amount. After we raise the money needed for the down-payment, all additional funds will go towards the renovation efforts to create a center for community.

Q: Does my gift make a difference?
A: Every single penny given to the BIG campaign makes a difference – never doubt the impact your gift can make! It will take the gifts of many for this vision to become a reality. Ask God to reveal what part He wants you to play in this effort.

“Remember this – a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ ”

Q: Are we gonna have a fundraiser for the BIG campaign?
A: The short answer is Yes – and No! We will not be having a church-wide fundraiser. However, if God has given you a dream of ways you can raise money for the BIG campaign, then you need to run with it! God speaks to us all in unique ways, and gifts us differently as well. Hey Revolutionaries!

Yay! It’s finally Friday. That means that we are just two days away from gathering together to worship our great God, and I can hardly wait.

The reason I’m so excited is I get to share part three of the BIG series. In this series we are talking about how everyone of us can do BIG things for God. If you have missed one of these messages, I encourage you to catch up online or on our super-slick iPhone app. Also, I invite you to be here this week to hear more about how you can be involved in God’s BIG vision for our church.

For those of you who have not heard the BIG news. We are seeking to purchase a couple of buildings in the old downtown area of Oakland to create a place for community and worship. Over the last couple of weeks we have consulted with several professionals concerning the potential uses of this space. We are developing some floor plan designs, which we hope to share with you before the end of the month.

As we move forward with this purchase, we are faced with a challenge. We have until the end of March to come up with the downpayment for the property, which is $40,000. I don’t want that number to alarm or overwhelm you. That number is nothing for our BIG God. It is really nothing for us together as a church family. So, I would like to encourage you to sit down with your family and prayerfully consider what God wants you to invest in this BIG step forward for Revolution Church. If you already know what you would like to give, you can make that donation online and simply type “BIG” in the comment section or you can write “BIG” in the memo portion of your check.

I can’t wait to worship with you this Sunday. It’s gonna be BIG!

What if you attempted something so BIG that you couldn’t do it without your Heavenly Father’s help?

There are several ways that you can serve at Revolution on Sundays. First, you can serve on theGreeter Team. As a greeter you can warmly welcome folks as they enter the doors to worship. Second, you can serve on the Kids Team. As a kids team volunteer you can help kids who are far from God find a revolutionary life in Christ through either our Elevate or Orbit environments. Third, you can serve on our Media Team. As a Media Team member you will serve an integral part of making Sunday worship flow. Hey Revolutionaries!

Happy Friday – I hope your week has been awesome!

This has been a BIG week in the life of our church. We began with a very powerful worship service and a great kick-off to our BIG series. Things got even better as we continued to see forward progress toward our vision of creating a center for community in Oakland. The week capped off with the opportunity to bless 40 faculty and staff members at Oakland Elementary School with Kleenex, hand sanitizer and pencils.

Wow – what a week! And here’s the cool thing…God used you to do it. He used your prayers. He usedyour hands and feet. He used your financial gifts.

As we close out the week, I want to encourage you to continue to allow God to use you. I have no doubt that He has BIG things in store for you, and for us as a church. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds!

Hey Revolutionaries!

This past Sunday at Revolution was BIG! We made a BIG announcement, which I will recap in just a moment. Yet, the thing that made it so BIG was you. It truly is a BIG deal when we gather together to turn our hearts, souls, minds and strength to Jesus. So, I want to say thank you for making our weekly worship experience the BIG deal that it is by attending and inviting your friends.

Now, back to the BIG announcement. We have made an offer to purchase two buildings in the old downtown Oakland area (the Village Hardware & Oakland Deposit Bank buildings,) right across the street from our current meeting location. These buildings represent more than just a future meeting place for Revolution Church. They represent the first step of a BIGGER vision to create a center of community in Oakland, that will be built and revitalized for people to gather and do life together.

At this point we are gathering information from a bunch of specialists, and we are assessing the potential ways that we can use this space to fulfill this vision. In the not too distant future we will be sharing those possibilities with you. In the meantime, there are some things that we as a church family can do. We can…DREAM BIG…PRAY BIG…ACT BIG…& BELIEVE BIG!

For more details on this announcement, I encourage you to join us this Sunday as we kick off the BIG series. In this series we will be sharing more of the BIG vision, and challenging YOU to do BIG things for God’s glory!

This Sunday, September 30 at 11:30 AM we will have another FAMILY WORSHIP experience. During family worship you will have the opportunity to sit together and worship with your family. Also, the kids will get to participate in a game show and help Pastor Aaron with the message. Nursery (Orbit) will still be provided for kids up to Pre-K. Come ready for a fun and exciting morning of worship at Revolution.

When it comes to money, there are a lot of mixed messages out there. Such as…

“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”

“Money makes the world go ’round.”

“The love of money is the root of all evil.”

“We’re not made of money.”

With messages like this floating around, it is hard to decipher the truth.

Join us for the conclusion of a new series at Revolution entitled, “MONEY: What Did Jesus Say About It?” In this series you will not hear the same old stuff you’ve always heard about money. You will hear the truth about money straight from Jesus’ mouth. It all happens this Sunday at 11:30AM. C’mon out, and bring a friend!

On Saturday, October 6 we will be serving at the Oakland in October festival by providing a place for folks to rest and relax. You can help with this SERVOLUTION opportunity in a couple of ways. First, we need several cases of bottled water. You can bring these to worship any Sunday between now and September 30. Second, we need volunteers to help man the booth. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Erika Grammer at tomerika5@gmail.com with the times that you are available.

MANIFESTO

Every single day we all come face to face with division. An argument at home. A disagreement at work. A bully at school. It often seems that we are surrounded by dissension, division, and disagreements.

Surely this isn’t God’s plan!

Join us this summer for a sermon series from the book of Ephesians entitled, “Manifesto.” In this series we’ll dig into scripture to see how to deal with the division in our lives, and discover how we can find true unity through Jesus Christ.
